HBO, building on eleven years of success with the U.S. Comedy Arts Festival in Aspen, and AEG LIVE, one of the most innovating and successful live event producers, announced that they have partnered to create The Comedy Festival (TCF) to be held in Las Vegas, November 17 ? 19, 2005. With TBS , television?s ?very funny? network, as its title sponsor, the event will be hosted by Caesars Palace and the Flamingo Las Vegas, whose celebrated entertainment legacy spans from Red Skelton and Rodney Dangerfield to Drew Carey and Jerry Seinfeld.
Kicking off TCF on November 17 is Earth to America!, a special start-studded, two hour comedy extravaganza created by Laurie David and featuring top Hollywood talent in an evening of comedy, music and messaging to raise awareness about global warming, will kick-off TCF. Scheduled to appear are Jack Black, Stephen Colbert, Larry David, Leonardo DiCaprio, Will Ferrell, Al Franken, Christopher Guest, Tom Hanks, Dustin Hoffman, Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., Senator John McCain, Steve Martin, Ray Romano, Martin Short and Ben Stiller. Country music superstar Tim McGraw will perform at the event. The show will be taped live at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace for later broadcast on TBS (air-date, Sunday, November 20th).
